Brown had a moment with Cliff Lee

Say you have a boyfriend that you really like, and then you have to break-up with him because he had to move away for a job. A year goes by, and you try to get over him and pretend like he can be replaced. Then all of sudden, he shows up back in Philadelphia, and everything you felt for this guy comes rushing back to you. That my friends, is how I feel about Cliff Lee coming back home. It’s overwhelming.

The coolest part of today was that I actually got to shake hands and talk to Cliff Lee. It was just so magical, even if it was for 2 minutes…even though my hands went ice cold when I walked up to shake his hands…even though I told him I was so excited when I found out and couldn’t go back to sleep.  I walked away from that conversation in a haze, and was pretty sure that I was dreaming.

Check out the video I edited for Philly.com Sports.

I swear Cliff was looking straight at me. We totally had a moment or two.

...and another moment with me while he was getting ready for the MLB interview with the "Wild Thing."

Brown says, “Bring out the chopper!”

So I work on the 2nd floor now with the rest of the video department. I admit, I was a little nervous about the move, but the guys down here are HILARIOUS and they make me feel right at home. At the same time, I do want to mention that the three video producers I work with are the most TALENTED people I’ve met in video. I’ve thought about stealing their brains, but it might be a long shot.

Nick just decided to bring out his toy helicopter one day…

Nick brought out his awesome helicopter one day.

...and then Conor tried to kick it down.

What mom wouldn't be proud of this fellah...

Brown loves to Mingle with Fashion

Working in Fashion can be brutal, but it has it’s perks. The key is to stay stylish, be sweet, and work your butt off to produce amazing content. I’ve had the opportunity to help out the Style section of Philly.com with a few videos in the past months, and with that I’ve met a lot of Philadelphia’s most fashionable and prominent people. A co-worker, and good friend of mine was invited to the Cashman and Associates 10th Anniversary party at Tangerine this past Thursday night. She invited me along as her plus one! YAY!

Cashman is a huge PR Agency in Philadelphia that specializes in upscale lifestyle brands, fashion, beauty and everything else you can think of. Basically, they’re IT! If they like you, you’re in. I’ve done some work that dealt with them and they loved it. So – I’m in…I think.

Tangerine was packed and everyone who was anyone was there. Side note – the mayor stopped talking to someone else to come and say hi to me. Yup – we’re cool like that.

A good night at Tangerine!

The odd things Brown finds around her workspace

After I got moved to the video dept, I have this little small corner to myself. I’m not complaining – I actually like it, but I guess being in the middle of the action brings up questions. Where did it come from?

Wednesday

I found this inflatable blimp just hanging out by my desk one day.

Friday

I found this little sucker this morning. I haven't seen a hacky sack in a while...

Brown loves this new look for Philadelphia

The article had me at “concert-friendly” lawn. I am loving this new blueprint on the property of City Hall.

The plaza would feature a concert-friendly lawn with a clusterof trees, as seen in this depiction from the Center City District. CHECK PHILLY.COM

Brown on set for a fashion shoot

Working in fashion has its perks. You get to go to awesome photo shoots like this one.

I covered this fashion shoot to do a promo video on Holiday Looks for 2010. We started shooting around 10am and wrapped up around 5pm, but it was completely worth the long hours. It sure beats having to stay up long hours to study for a Bio exams in the past. HA! Check out some of the scenes from the day, and be sure to check on Philly.com next week for the video and the entire Holiday Fashion page.

Holly did an amazing job with hair.

Esther, our style producer, and Caitlin from PR getting our model ready.

Alexandra, our model for the day.

Michael Wertz, our brilliant fashion photographer.

This was my favorite outfit from the shoot.

We had over $200,000 worth of bling at the shoot.

Brown saw Brooke Fraser

There she was. In the flesh. My number one, absolute, favorite artist. The one that inspires me to write music, and play guitar. I want to write a review, but I can see myself being so biased and just squiggling hearts all over a sheet of paper ( yes – I’m THAT pathetic ). Brooke Fraser – you’re amazing, and even though you messed up on Shadowfeet, no one would have noticed if you didn’t keep playing with your ear piece. Forget the gear and just sing raw, woman! You don’t need feedback!

My favorite song of the night was actually Brooke's encore song, Coachella.

Overall - she's a little weird on stage, but it totally suits her quirky personality. Actually - she reminds me of me.

Had a good night with these ladies.

Brown loves you, Brooke!

Why Brown has TWO Birthdays…

It’s true! I have two birthdays, and here’s the story behind it.

  • I was born on November 4th in some random hospital in India. (Problem #1)
  • My mother had complications after giving birth to me. I always thought I was a chubby baby, and I guess I gave her a hard time. (Problem #2)

She stayed in the hospital for two weeks, and my uncle came to pick us up after she was feeling better. Administration told him that since I was born on the 4th they would need extra money to go back into records that far. (India in the 80s…psshh)

  • My uncle, being the very wise man he is, refused to pay and insisted that they just put me down as the 18th for date of birth (Problem #3). My birth certificate, driver’s license, and all other legal documents say the 18th.

…and so I was born again…two weeks later. Happy 2nd Birthday to me!

Brown’s heart

Sometimes I forget where my heart is so often that I barely use it. Girls just think logically ever since their hearts ran-a-muck and caused a mess. It takes the right guy to bring down the walls, or loosen the chain we have on our hearts. Still waiting, I guess…

I Saw this picture at my friend Jesie’s house, and absolutely love it!
